Cozad Electric Lineman participated in the annual Hurt Man Rescue Training today through Northeast Community College.
A hurt man rescue is an emergency procedure used by line workers to safely lower an injured or incapacitated coworker from a utility pole. The rescuer climbs the pole, positions their belt above the victim, secures the victim with three loose half hitches, cuts the victim's fall-restraint lanyard, and uses a rigging line as a brake to ease them to the ground. Rescuers aim to complete the procedure in under 4 minutes.

BOPW will be repairing water lines on the corner of East 8th Street and Locust Street the morning of Wednesday, August 5th . Residents north of the area will not have water for a couple hours during this time.. Thank you for your patience as we make these necessary repairs.

🚧 Water Main Replacement Project – East 12th Street 🚧
The Contractors for the City of Cozad will begin to replace the aging water main along East 12th Street tomorrow, July 29th.
This important infrastructure project will improve water service reliability, enhance fire protection capabilities, and reduce future maintenance needs.
Residents in the area may experience temporary traffic disruptions and occasional water service interruptions during construction. The City will provide advance notice whenever possible.
Thank you for your patience as we invest in improvements that will benefit our community for years to come.
