The Cozad Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Individuals who currently have a Law Enforcement Certificate from the State of Nebraska are preferred but not required. Non-Certified applicants must meet all the requirements to obtain entry into the NLETC, which includes passing a background check, passing a TABE (test of adult basic education), the PRET (physical readiness entrance test) and pass the basic training curriculum at the NLETC to successfully obtain their law enforcement certification. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid drivers license, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, be of good moral character, have no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions. Salary is based on experience and qualifications with a salary range of 54k to 66k and a 7k retention/incentive bonus for certified officers.
